We had to get some miscellaneous items from Lowe's tonight and we decided to go to the new one in Springdale.
Before we left, Belle (our very needy but cute doggie) heard us talking about "going" somewhere and was getting pretty pumped up. We were in the Fayetteville Lowe's a few weeks ago and had seen someone with their dog, so we decided to call Lowe's and see if they had a pet policy.
The lady who answered said they don't have a policy and that tons of people bring their pets into the store; and as long as they don't bother anyone, they're welcome to come in!
So we packed up the whole family and headed to Lowe's! There usually aren't very many people there in the evenings, so that was good. As we walked in, 2 clerks just kind of looked at us. They didn't smile, and they didn't frown. It was very ackward. As we walked the isles, employees just looked at us, then at Belle, then back at us. Again, never smiling nor frowning. Still very ackward.
We finally ran across a guy who I initially thought was gay. He was obviously a dog person and got down there and pet Belle for a long time as we all talked. We later found out that he had a 2 month old baby at home and understood the "needy dog" situation. So he wasn't gay. Could've fooled me.
We passed several employees and shoppers in the store. Each one looking at us in bewilderment. We just smiled and walked on by.
So, we got a pretty darn nuetral response from the Lowe's employees overall. But shout out to the nice not-gay man who welcomed us with open arms. You made our trip and experiment worth it all.
